Giovanna Baviera

The Italian-Irish musician Giovanna Baviera was born in Luxembourg. She initially studied musicology at Trinity College Dublin: in 2011 she came to Basel to study viola da gamba with Paolo Pandolfo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she completed her master's degree in 2016. As a chamber musician, she is active with ensembles such as Concerto di Margherita, Profeti della Quinta, Novantik, Ad Fontes and Voces Suaves. She is dedicated to deepening the art of self-accompanied singing. Her concert activities have taken her to various festivals, concert halls and theaters in Europe, including the York Early Music Festival, the Bremen Music Festival, the Poznan Baroque Festival International, the Göttingen Handel Festival and the Theater Gessnerallee Zurich.
