Colin Balzer
COLIN BALZER, born in Canada, is an engaging interpreter of early music and has performed with ensembles such as the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra / Markus Creed, the Academy of Early Music Berlin, Les Musiciens du Louvre / Marc Minkowski, Collegium Vocale Gent / Philippe Herreweghe, Musikpodium Stuttgart / Frieder Bernius, Handel Festival Göttingen / Lawrence Cummings, Bach Collegium Japan / Masaki Suzuki, Early Music Vancouver, Tafelmusik Orchestra Toronto, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Pacific Music Works Seattle, Les Voix Baroque Montreal, Mercury Baroque Orchestra Houston, Les Violons du Roy Quebec and at Boston Early Music Festival, where he took on numerous opera roles, including as his debut the title role in Monteverdi's “Ulisse”. In addition to his early music repertoire, Colin Balzer is a celebrated recitalist and performs regularly with modern orchestras in North America and Europe. He currently lives in Augsburg with his wife and two children.
