Munich 1557 - Orlando di Lasso under Herzogs Albrecht V. and Wilhelm V.
Born in the Netherlands, Orlando di Lasso (1532-1594) was one of the most important composers of the Renaissance. In 1556 he came to Munich as a member of the ducal Court Orchestra and took over in 1563 the post of Kapellmeister, which he held until his death. Knighted by Emperor Maximilian II in 1570, he died in Munich in 1594. From his comprehensive oeuvre, sacred and secular songs are presented, which were composed at the Munich court. Two contemporary vocal works by the Munich composer Wolfram Buchenberg (1962-) lead the way back to the future.
