Emma-Lisa Roux

Emma-Lisa Roux discovered the renaissance lute at the age of six with her first teacher Claire Antonini, who also introduced her to singing. Her growing passion for renaissance music led her to enter the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, completing her Bachelor’s degree in 2018 with Hopkinson Smith, and her Master of performance with Peter Croton in the beginning of 2021.

As a part of her exploration of the lute repertoire, Emma-Lisa experiments with singing and accompanying herself. She regularly performs in Europe, as a lute player or a singing lute player. She took part in 2019 in Fabulous Fringe, with the trio Rosa Mundi, performing in Utrecht and Bruges, or the Laus Polyphoniae festival in Antwerp in the frame of the International Young Artist’s Presentation.
