Concert in memory of Annette Theis-Brüser - Invitation
Dear Friends,
we will give a concert with Josquin Capella in Berlin, dedicated to the memory of Annette. Annette and I did many concerts together, but she also took care of Josquin Capella for 20 years, organized the trips, was on the road with us and was good friends with some of the singers. And so we are taking advantage of a project in Cologne to sing in Berlin in advance. It should be an evening with wonderful music, in a beautiful place, with which we associated good memories.
Masterpieces of the Cappella Sistina - music by Dufay, Josquin, Festa, Arcadelt
Sacred music of the Renaissance from the ranks of Cappella Sistina by Guillaume Dufay, Josquin Desprez, Andreas de Silva, Carpentras and Costanzo Festa
The Cappella Sistina is the name given not only to the famous church in the Vatican with Michelangelo's rich fresco work, but also to the papal vocal ensemble that sang there - always unaccompanied. Since the 15th century, it attracted outstanding vocal composers throughout Europe. How they always dealt with their own traditions in their liturgical works for Rome is fascinatingly traced by the Josquin Capella in its selection of music over more than a century, from Guillaume Dufay to Costanzo Festa. Of course, the ensemble's namesake is not to be missed.
